This week, we want to introduce our Marketing Manager and let him tell his story.
I grew up in Hoppers Crossing and attended Heathdale Christian College. I joined the debating team and soon began to take an interest in public speaking and writing. I was also heavily involved in my local church’s youth and children’s programs as a volunteer. And, in 2010 I did a week of work experience at Fairfax Newspaper which first started my desire to pursue a career in Journalism.
I graduated high school in 2012 and started a Bachelor of Arts at Deakin University the year after. Here I took subjects in Journalism and Public Relations, as well as playing with my own blog on Wordpress. I was quickly building skill on social media and learning how to work with online tools and programs.
In 2015 I took a gap year and did some travelling, and connected with Dallian D’Cruz, the CEO of WynBay LLEN. The LLEN does many great projects in the community partnering local businesses with local schools and creating really important networks for students to engage in subjects they wouldn’t otherwise have access too. It was really interesting and exciting to volunteer for the organisation and learn about what they do and their impact on the Wyndham and Hobsons Bay region. I’ve helped with their "On Track" program for the past 3 years, and it's through WynBay LLEN than I connected with Yuri and YMtech.
I returned to University in 2017 and took an internship at iFormat where I learned a lot about digital marketing and blog writing. I became more confident in working online and with tools such as Teamwork, Squarespace, Social media platforms and others. I also took another internship with the Deakin Talent Freelancing Hub where I and a few other students were partnered with the Geelong-based community group Give Where You Live. We were able to provide them with fundamental market research and an online survey for their customers to complete so they could improve their food supply services to those in real need throughout the Geelong area.
After the two internships concluded I began my role at YMtech as a digital marketing manager. It’s been a challenging and rewarding role, and I’ve enjoyed the work. The industry of Digital Marketing is continuing to expand and evolve and I’m enjoy being pushed to see even greater results for our clients. I’ve been attending industry conferences and networking within the Melbourne area to build my portfolio and skills even further.
Learning about the other services YMtech provide for our customers from Yuri and Mauro has been a great delight and it’s very evident that they are both passionate about their work. I’m looking forward to graduating from University this year and expanding my skills and role at YMtech.
